According to the researchers, treatment with the BCG vaccination was linked to a 25 per cent decreased risk of deaths, here's what expert told News9
Dr Trupti Gilada, an infectious expert shared with News9, “Even before this study came out, it was found that individuals who were BCG vaccinated showed a lesser risk of bladder cancer as compared to those who were not. This gave the idea that the BCG vaccine could prevent bladder cancer if given locally. In this particular study, the researchers found that those individuals who were receiving the BCG vaccine when followed up over a period of years were reported to have a lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and death. Therefore, this was one of the benefits that the researchers found.”
