Unison's wider work
Advocacy
Helping patients navigate healthcare while bringing practical medical knowledge into public life.

Healthcare does not end with a prescription.
Patient and healthcare advocacy
Sometimes the biggest challenge a patient faces is navigating insurance, mediclaim, referrals, access to medicines, public healthcare systems or regulatory processes.
We help patients and families understand these systems and, where possible, assist them in accessing the care and treatment they need.
We also participate in dialogue about healthcare policy, insurance and mediclaim, access to treatment and regulatory affairs, with the larger aim of making healthcare more accessible and patient-centred.
Public health advocacy
Medicine also has a responsibility beyond the consultation room.
We use our experience to communicate about infectious diseases and public health through media, social media, public education, professional forums and community initiatives.
From awareness around HIV, TB, STIs, antimicrobial resistance and vaccination to initiatives such as Bas Ab Jeetna Hai and Worksafe, our work aims to translate medical knowledge into practical action.
The goal is better information, better decisions and better health, not only for individual patients but for the communities we live in.
