Clinical care
Infectious Diseases
Evaluation and care for everyday, persistent, recurrent, unusual or complex infections.

Infections are among the most common reasons people seek medical care, from everyday infections to illnesses that are unusual, persistent or difficult to diagnose and treat.
We care for the full spectrum of bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections, as well as mixed infections. We also see people with recurrent or unexplained fevers, infections that have not responded to usual first-line treatments, infections in people with weakened immunity, and more complex or uncommon infections.
The aim is not only to treat an infection, but to understand why it happened, whether treatment is really needed, what the right treatment is and, most importantly, how it may be prevented in the future.
Using antibiotics carefully
Indiscriminate and frequent antibiotic use when it is not indicated is an important driver of antimicrobial resistance. Antimicrobial resistance is projected to become one of the world's leading causes of death in the coming decades. Before taking an antibiotic, seek advice from a clinician who can assess what you actually need.
